Medical Conditions We Treat

Autoimmunity

Autoimmune diseases affect millions of people worldwide and can present in the body through an expansive array of symptoms. People most commonly suffer from immune system dysfunction; whether it’s abnormally low or abnormally overactive. Though the severity level varies, in every autoimmune disease, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells in the body. Any part of the body can fall victim to this attack, which is why there is such a wide variety of symptoms from patient to patient. We treat diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia.

Mycotoxin (mold) illness

Mold (mycotoxins) Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by mold, and chronic exposure to them can cause serious harm to your health. Although mold toxicity is believed to be very prevalent, it is significantly under-diagnosed because the symptoms of exposure are wide-ranging and diverse. Exposure can cause many issues within the body, such as fatigue, anxiety, digestive problems, respiratory issues, immune dysregulation, and neurological impairment.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is a complex, multi-system illness caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi. It is most commonly transmitted by the bite of an infected black-legged tick, but there may be additional methods of transmission, including mother-to-fetus transmission. Lyme disease is difficult to diagnose and often complicated by co-infections and co-existing illnesses, making it one of the most misdiagnosed immune disorders. If caught early, conventional treatments for acute Lyme disease can be helpful; however, chronic Lyme disease often fails to respond to extended courses of antibiotics, when whole-person treatment approaches are lacking. An individualized approach to Lyme disease and associated infections is essential.

Neurocognitive disorders & diseases

Neurocognitive disorders, diseases, and degeneration are more common as we age. This general term refers to decreased mental function due to a medical disease other than a psychiatric illness. The most commonly known is Alzheimer’s disease; however, others include Lewy body disease, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease. By utilizing integrative medical techniques that stimulate your own body’s ability to repair itself, we can help alleviate the effects of neurocognitive disorders and degeneration.
